Strongest evidence yet of water on Mars
Recurring slope lineae (RSL) on the central structure of Horowitz Crater. Altimetry map (A) locates the full 5.1-kilometer-wide HiRISE image (B), with the white box indicating the color enlargement (C). Blue arrows in (B) show some concentrations of RSL within the central peaks and pits. Colors in (C) have been strongly enhanced to show the subtle differences, including light orange streaks (black arrows) in the upper right that may mark faded RSL.

(A) is full HiRISE image, arrows point to some concentrations of RSL, and locate the black box of four extensions of orthorectified images (13) showing the RSL (dark lines) was eaten in the years to 28 March (12) (B), bleached by the early spring (C), then gradually darkening and reform in the spring (D) and summer (E) of the year March 30. The RSL is located on steep slopes to the north-west of slopes associated with rock outcrops, often in alcoves. Each image was given a minimum-maximum stretch so that shadows are black and the brightest spots are white.
